The Heart Behind This

The heart behind Bobby Jean is the desire to honor the Lord through loving your family well. One of the most important ways that your family can feel loved is feeling comfortable within their home. The perfection of interior design is not the goal, but creating a space that illuminates your gifts as a wife, mother, friend, and having a space that your spouse and children feel loved in is.

When I was growing up I have vivid memories of my mom making each day special whether that was fresh baked cookies on the counter after school, my artwork hanging on the walls or letting me paint my room 1 million times to make it feel like my own. She allowed me to have a space at home that felt warm and lived in. We rearranged the living room because it was fun and different. We would change our bedding with the seasons and decorate for the coming holiday. My home quickly become the place where my friends wanted to be because it felt welcoming and warm. I loved my home and every memory within it. Once I got married, I remember dreading leaving because I thought I’d never get to remake the feeling of warmth that hugged the walls but I quickly realized I was wrong. After learning from my mom, I carried that feeling into my own home where I would care for my husband and babies. I painted the walls with color, I decorated with the seasons, I baked fresh goods and made the space we live in home. My point is that you don’t have to have a huge house or lots of money on extra things, it’s the very little details that you can create from nothing that make a space so special that you never want to leave.

Our hope within the creation of Bobby Jean is that this would be a space for us to learn together how to love and honor our families well and create beauty within our homes.
