Details Matter.

We are a mother/daughter duo who much like most of you love decorating, love details and overall love making your house a home.

We decided to just go for it and launch our website and some items! Are we truly ready? We know we aren’t…. However, we decided if we wait for it all to be just right; we’ll never start!

My name is Colleen, I’m the mom of the duo. I have had a love for interior decorating/interior dreaming since I was in 6th grade. I would randomly draw floor plans, study the space and picture myself living there.

I would look in catalogs and magazines in order to find my interiors. (I would love to find some of those drawings from my past.)

I worked for an interior design firm while I was in college. I only worked on commercial jobs; mostly creating the design boards for apartment complexes and the model units.

After college, friends and family started asking for my advice and people actually paid me to help them. This was very part time and I gained customers by word of mouth. I loved helping others embrace their home and create a space they wanted to spend time in.

My clients consisted of those who didn’t care, didn’t have a vision and just wanted the job done or for most those who had great ideas but just needed confidence and help in making decisions. Several of my customers didn’t need me at all. They just needed to trust their choices. I want to encourage you to do the same! Trust yourself. Create a space or spaces that reflect you!

Details matter……. For me and truly a lot of my friends, we enjoy putting love in the details. It can be an accessory or just a good cleaning but caring enough to put that extra touch in whatever you are doing shows love to those around you.

A fresh coat and new color of paint is the easiest way to significantly change the overall feel of a room. If that’s way more effort than you want to put in, change your pillows and throws or an accessory or two…

Honestly, just a good cleaning and fresh flowers can change a space. All of these details bring me joy.

When I was living in my first apartment, a special person in my life encouraged me. She said Colleen whatever you are doing add beauty….

If you are asked to set the table, then make it pretty. Have fun with it. Add details. Her advice stuck with me and truly changed in a lot of ways how I approach my life…

Later, when I became a Christian, I learned the scripture Colossians 3:17 and Colossians 3:23. These are ones that I try hard to keep at the forefront.

I've been inspired by interiors my whole life and its in these little pieces of advice from mentors, friends and scripture that have made me realize just how important design really is when it comes to your home. It creates a feeling far more important than just the paint on the wall.
